Dear Colleagues,
December 3 is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Libraries play an important role in providing access to information and services for people in this community of special needs.
Forgive the lateness in informing you of these two webinars on Dec. 3 to provide information about serving people with disabilities.
From Unesco:

Dear Sir/Madam,
We are pleased to invite you UNESCO's celebrations on the occasion of the 3 December 2020 – International Day of Persons with Disabilities. UNESCO will organize two Webinars, including other activities such as a Global Awareness Raising Campaign on its official social media channels.
This year's theme is "Building back better: towards an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 world by, for and with persons with disabilities".
People with disabilities are disproportionately affected by the health, social and economic consequences of the global COVID-19 pandemic. This year's theme emphasizes the importance of strengthening our collective efforts for universal access to essential services, including immediate health and social protection, education, digital infrastructure, accessible information, employment and other socio-cultural opportunities in order to ensure that persons with disabilities are not left behind in times of crisis and beyond.
We would like to invite you to participate in the two webinars discussing these themes:
· Webinar on "Disability inclusive response for COVID-19 through Open and Distance Learning" (3 December 2020, 15:00 to 16:00 CET)
The speakers will among others reflect on the implementation of UNESCO Open Educational Resources (OER) Recommendation. The Recommendation supports the creation, use and adaptation of inclusive and quality OER, facilitates international cooperation in this field, and is the fruit of over a decade of multi-stakeholder efforts in the area of OER.
· Webinar "Share your Story for Development" (3 December 2020, 17:00 to 18:00 CET)
The Webinar will present and introduce the UNESCO project Story for Development which you possibly have already joined and/or provided your story to. Building on the analysis of 100 stories collected through the online platform "Story4Development", by artists, sport athletes, entrepreneurs and others, the audience will learn about enabling factors which played an important role for the empowerment of person with disabilities, including during the Covid-19 pandemic.
