Az alábbi levélben egy jövő évi konferencia részvételére szóló felhívást, és -kedvcsinálóként- az ez évi eseményről szóló beszámolómat továbbítom az érdeklődők számára.
Felhívom a figyelmet arra, hogy van lehetőség pályázni a részvétel költségeinek támogatására. Az érdeklődőket szívesen segítem további információkkal.
Az EAHIL az európai orvosi-egészségügyi könyvtárosok szövetsége. Ebben az évben az International Congress on Medical Librarianship és az EAHIL közösen szervezett konferenciát, tehát az esemény messze túlmutatott a kontinens határain: fokozott érdeklődés és jelenlét övezte a tengerentúlról, elsősorban az USA-ból, Ausztráliából, Afrikából.
Az eseményen az EAHIL Council magyarországi képviselőjeként vettem részt, ami magában foglalja a Tanácsülésen való részvételt, valamint a konferencia előadásait értékelő munkacsoport tevékenységét.
A konferencia munkacíme és mottója 2017-ben: Diversity in Practice: Integrating, Inspiring, and Innovative.
83 előadás hangzott el és 66 posztert tekinthettünk meg, a következő témakörökben, szekciókban: Oktatás és tanulás; Technológia; Kutatás és bizonyítékokon alapuló könyvtárosság; Vezetés és menedzsment; Integráció.
Számos előadás témájaként bukkant fel a digitális írástudás új oktatási módszereinek bevezetése, a kísérletek, eredmények ismertetése. A legjobbnak ítélt előadás is ebben a témában hangzott el.
Kiemelt téma volt a tudásmenedzsment, a könyvtárosok kompetencia-fejlesztése, a változásmenedzsment, új típusú felhasználói terek (makerspace).
Az előadásokat számos workshop kísérte. Én egy, a workshopok módszertanát bemutató workshopon (Workshop on Workshops, WoW) vettem részt, ahol az interaktív foglalkozások tartalmi és formai elemeit, sikerkritériumait elemeztük.
A konferencia után a Trinity College Dublin könyvtárát, a Berkeley Library-t látogattuk meg, ahol az elmúlt 50 év három különböző évtizedében és három stílusban épült könyvtár/ak funkcióin kívül a DEENK-hez hasonló egyetemi és nemzeti könyvtári szolgáltatásokkal is megismerkedtem.
A konferenciát széles tartalmi spektruma, magas szakmai-szervezési színvonala miatt nem csak orvosi könyvtárakban dolgozó kollégákban ajánlom.

The Local Organising Committee for EAHIL 2018 are pleased to announce that the European Association for Health Information & Libraries will hold their 16th annual Conference in
Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom on 9-13 July 2018
The conference will take place in the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama<http://www.rwcmd.ac.uk/>, with the Welcome Reception in the National Museum<https://museum.wales/cardiff/> and the Conference Dinner in City Hall Cardiff<http://www.cardiffcityhall.com/> in the historic heart of the city.

The LOC has members from many different organisations within and outside Wales. This call for abstracts is being sent out to these organisations and networks.
EAHIL seeks abstracts from colleagues in all sectors. We know that we have a lot to learn about health and wellbeing from each other.
Types of presentations and workshops
There are four different types of presentation and workshop at the conference. Please state on your submission which type you think would best showcase your work. The categories are:
· Continuing Education Courses (9 and 10 July)
· Parallel sessions: Interactive and hands on workshops
· Parallel sessions: Lecture style. This will include panel discussion and questions from the audience.
· Digital Poster* exhibition.
Timetable
Deadline for Abstract Submissions: October 27 2017
Notification of Abstract Acceptance: December 1 2017
Deadline for Registration for Presenters: March 30 2018
*The poster exhibition will be electronic for the first time at an EAHIL conference. You will be asked to send a JPEG of your poster to the Cardiff exhibition team and we will do the rest. All posters will be available on e-poster monitors in the conference exhibition and on the conference website. These electronic posters will also be available for the online CPD EAHIL courses.
