The INFORUM 2013 conference will take place at the
University of Economics in Prague on May 21-22, 2013.
Registration is now open for the conference and also for pre-conference
workshops scheduled for May 20. The conference will cover topics related to the
professional information resources for research, development, education and
business purposes. The event is is geared for academic/special/public library
directors, senior library staff, information professionals from private
corporations and state agencies, IT managers, university teachers and students.
Simultaneous interpretation in English is provided during all
sessions.

speakers as well as practical information.

KEY ISSUES covered at the conference this year will
include digital content and e-books, technology in libraries, innovation,
digitization of rare collections, www search and discovery solutions, trends and
future challenges and library marketing.
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS for the event
are Stephen Abram, the Vice President for Strategic
Partnerships and Markets for Cengage Learning (Gale) who was listed by Library
Journal as one of the top 50 people influencing the future of libraries;
Thomas Mutschler from Thuringian University and State Library
of Jena (ThULB Jena, Germany) and Aki Lassila from Finland who
is responsible for the Finnish National Digital Library s public interface Finna
development and deployment.
The WORKSHOPS will focus on ebooks and their
role in the future of libraries and on experiences on implementing a discovery
solution.
The conference will be complemented by an EXHIBITION, the
presenting companies include publishers of professional electronic information
resources, aggregators and online vendors and producers of library software and
related products.

Registration will remain open through May 10, 2013. An entry to the conference
provides access to parallel sessions and it includes coffee breaks, the evening
