Dear Colleagues,

I'm pleased to present you the special issue of The Library Review (Przeglad Biblioteczny), published on the occasion of its 85th anniversary. It is the oldest Polish scientific periodical in LIS, founded in 1927.  In this special issue we placed the English translation of seven articles published between 2005 and 2010. We hope that this selection of articles on contemporary research in library and information science in Poland will meet the interest of readers.
